At Engenho Uruaé, our next visit, it is displayed a beautiful architectural set consisting of the Casa Grande, chapel and slave quarters. Goiana was the home to many famous figures, transporting the visitor to the golden years of the sugar cane in Brazil.A world of rural activities waits for us, peculiar to a farm of leisure which is offered by the Casa de Campo. A walk to Lagoa Encantada (Enchanted Lagoon), with its wild birds, the possibility of visiting a rustic house for the preparation of flour, ride on horseback, in chariots pulled by a tractor, typical plantations the region known as the macaxeira (cassava), yam and pineapple. Besides the tasting of artisanal cachaça to provoke your appetite for the delicious lunch of the rich local cuisine, roast lamb, beef and chicken with beans, cassava farofa, various salads, doces (sugary) of watermelon, jaca and banana are simply irresistible. A nap in a hammock after lunch is the idea to recover the energy, or maybe you prefer a good walk through the farm, or perhaps, late in the afternoon a snack prepared with great affection so that you could bring back the nice and gentle memories of a script full of color and flavors.
