In the southern part of the state, some 80 kilometers from Natal, Pipa offers a vision of rare beauty. The access to Pipa is through the Route of the Sun, by Barreira do Inferno, Base for Launching Rockets, and North Pirangi, which houses the "largest cashew in the world"; Nísia Floresta, with a memorial for the first feminist of Brazil (optional route)and Tibau South, a most calm beach where the forest makes part of the river and the sea.
